Perianal Sinus

Perianal Sinus

The simple type of perianal sinus is a superficial communication between the bowel and the perianal skin and its excision is effective.

In its complicated type (with many brunches or when the sphincter is involved) a simple excision may not be effective and multiple or more complex operations are required sometimes.

Crohn’s disease perianal sinuses need special management with medication and if surgery is necessary, should be always conservative.
